S., European male, aet 41, consulted me on 12-8-23 for the following complaints ; (i) dyspnoea on slight exertion and at night; (ii) exhaustion; (iii) palpitation; (iv) praecordial discomfort, and (v) slight cough. These symptoms commenced in March 1922, shortly after recovering from a severe attack of broncho-pneumonia in February 1922; they got progressively worse until June 1923, when he was compelled to have absolute rest.
